Come and join us to celebrate 40 years of Greenpeace. Like all good celebrations we'll have cakes, drinks and a great social atmosphere. The evening is a chance to celebrate the work of Greenpeace and past campaigning successes. We'll have inspiring speakers, some short films and we'll cover Greenpeace's history, the work of our local group and explain our current campaigns targeting VW and working to Save the Arctic. The venue is large enough to accomodate 200 people so please do spread the word and bring friends. It promises to be a really good introduction to Greenpeace for new people and we're sure even the most hardened activists will learn something new. Volunteers are encouraged to dress up (rainbow theme, rainforest, star wars, arctic - whatever tickles your fancy). Let's make it a night to remember! Oooh, and there is a raffle too!
Entry £1 (just to cover our costs of hiring the venue)
Doors open at 7.30pm. 8pm Start. Please be there for 8pm when speakers/films begin.
We are very pleased and proud to have EMILY HALL speaking at our event. Emily works in the Direct Action unit at Greenpeace HQ and was one of the climbers that scaled the Kingsnorth power station. We will be showing the film 'A Time Comes' about the Kingsnorth 6.
