Last week I walked for 24 Hours, virtually non-stop. Why?

Well I did wonder that at times, mainly around about 2am. This year Greenpeace is 40 years old, as I am, pretty much. I have been supporting Greenpeace for the last 24 years so I thought I could combine these two and do a bit of fund-raising. Walking up the Worcester - Staffordshire canal on the May Day weekend, I sought to bring analogies to the concept of 24 hours and the short timeframe we have left, 24 years?, to make the changes to energy production and conservation in order to save what we have left of this current eco-system.

Finishing in Stafford from Worcester also linked how small changes to travel, walking those small but manageable distances, not the 54 miles I covered, but to work, school, etc can make a difference. People often say things wont change, well they do,  not always for the better, but more often not as a result of people's needs but corporate greed.

Being with Greenpeace for 24 years and looking through the history of Greenpeace during its' 40 years, shows that we can all create a change as individuals, combining in groups, becoming a movement, making a stand and leading through positive action.

Thanks to all those that helped me raise around £500 for Greenpeace.
