Rod hands over a gift from Worthing group to a BP exec, London

I’ve been a member of Worthing Greenpeace Group since its formation approx 7 years ago. We have campaigned on many issues over the years including light bulbs, fishing, forests, transport etc & have had many successes along the way.

The group meets about every 6 weeks, usually in a pub, the meetings are friendly and informal mainly to review past event & plan for the future. We also campaign jointly with other local groups and individuals providing great opportunities to network.

Greenpeace head office provides us with plenty of up to date information and gives us full backing and support on our campaign. They also organise free seminars and action days for the group.

Greenpeace does vital work in getting important information to the public that would otherwise not be released by Governments or reported in the media. Over the years through local Greenpeace Groups like the one here in Worthing many issues have been brought into the open by our campaigns. From our campaigning legislation has been tightened up by governments nationally and internationally and multi-national companies have been shamed into taking new directions.

I have campaigned on environmental issues since the 1980’s when my children were young in order to do my part to keep the planet safe for them & for future generations.

New members are always welcome to attend meetings and campaigns and you don’t have to be a member of Greenpeace.
