A flag for the future

Are you young (between the ages of 6 and 26)? Are you creative? Are you eco-conscious?

Can you design a flag that symbolises a future of peace, hope and global community?

Greenpeace, in conjunction with the  World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts are running a competition for such a flag. What's more, the fashion designer Vivienne Westwood will be amongst the judging panel. The winning design will be taken to the North Pole and it will be planted on the sea bed in a time capsule.

Why the North Pole?

The Arctic matters to everybody everywhere, and what happens to the Arctic will affect us all. Young people today will probably live to see a time when the Arctic sea ice melts completely in the summer months.

This is why we need a Flag for the Future – not a flag representing one nation or one group of people, but a flag that stands for universal hope, peace and global cooperation.

The closing date is approaching: February 27th
