To extract gas from deep underground requires a process of explosions and the use of millions of gallons of water and chemicals, many chemicals used in this process cannot be divulged to the general public and most remain completely oblivious to what is happening to their water and air. Experts fear that unacceptable levels of Radium 226 is present in gas development waste. Through the fracking process waste, chemicals may find their way into drinking water and air. The chemicals used in the fracking industry, according to leading experts are linked to bone,liver and breast cancers,gastrointestinal, circulatory, respitory developement as well as brain and nervous system disorders.

Waste from Pennsylvania gas wells that may contain unacceptable levels of Radium is routinely dumped across state lines into landfills in New York, Ohio and West Virginia, which will and should lead to questions of where will the waste product of any fracking in the UK eventually end up? If this practice is used in the USA the companies involved in fracking in the UK will want to continue the practice here, leading to serious problems for those living near to a landfill site and roads leading to it and also workers who may work on landfill sites.

The UK should resist ALL attempts aimed to get people to accept fracking. The desperation of this coalition government to foist a dangerous and explosive industry onto the people of the UK is obvious when they are resorting to offering what amounts to bribes in money for communities.
The consultation of the people has been insulting in the extreme, matched only by the chancellors smugness and compliance with big oil and gas, by offering generous tax subsidies to those who would poison and kill us. This is nothing more than a Dash For Gas by stealth, aided and abetted by back door deals and blind eyes turned.
When all is said and done this is about GAS, one of the most dangerous to extract and a toxic fossil fuel that will prevent us from achieving our legally binding Co2 emmissions cut. It WILL NOT cut bills, it WILL endanger the lives and even kill the citizens of the UK and it WILL be a game changer at the 2015 general election.
Renewable energy is safer and the future, fossil fuels are dangerous and dying in the past, let the fossil fuel industry die so we can move to a brighter future with renewable energy.
