Right to Peaceful Protest - Stop Police Aggression

Posted by naturegirl - 29 July 2013 at 3:26pm

As you can see by the photo on the last blog police officers are using excessive force including intimidation and aggression to break lines of ordinary people lawfully protesting against fracking as is their right to do so. They were showing support in a non violent non intimidatory way but were subjected to excessive force by over zealous police officers and as you can see in the photo they seemed to be enjoying it, which the protesters quite clearly are not. The official blurb was that police officers where not using intimidatory action or excessive force but you can see that is not the case. The police should be acting for the larger communities of people who they are supposed to protect and serve, rather than the small numbers of bankers and millionaires who will benefit from this type of gas and oil extraction.
