£1,100 for each person that was affected and is still being affected by a devastating oil spill in the Niger Delta.
Measure this offer of compensation for such a life changing oil spill that has been inflicted on the Bodo fishing community with Shell's £141 billion of profit and you get to see the real Shell and the pure evil that lies within it's corporate heart.
The rusting pipelines that spilled black crude oil onto the mangrove swamps and waterways of the Niger delta are 50 years old, this is the care that Shell take when a major oil spill splashes its insidious fossil fuel poison onto a landscape that provided the delta with the bounty it needed for survival.

Profit is all that drives Shell, profit for the company in order to fund even more destructively polluting oil extraction operations around the globe and profit for the shareholders who take this blood money.
This pursuit of profit also shows the world exactly what kind of company Shell are. Ready to drain the last drops of climate changing fossil fuels from the earth at any cost and this from a company with its disastrous record of pollution? A company who next year will (along with Gazprom) begin to search for oil in the Russian Arctic and have the same rusting ships and sub-standard equipment to try to extract oil from the worlds most unique eco-system that including Polar Bears, Arctic Foxes, Narwhals and countless bird species?
The world CANNOT and SHOULD NOT have these serial oil polluters anywhere near the Arctic to drill for oil, for the simple reason it is almost certain they will cause a major oil spill and once spilled in the Arctic will be impossible to clean up.Shell will then treat the Arctic exactly like the Niger Delta, leaving indiginous people and the immediate environment devasted for decades to come.
Help Greenpeace STOP this dinosaur fossil fuel polluter from ruining the Arctic, let us say NO MORE to this greedy and evil company once and for all and tell them to STAY OUT OF THE ARCTIC.
Make your voice heard along with other concerned people tomorrow (15th September) in London with Aurora, walk with the worlds biggest polar bear puppet to the headquarters of Shell and help to send a clear message to them, we dont want any drilling in the arctic, we want a global sanctuary in the Arctic to protect it from oil companies like Shell.
