Tuesday 24th May.
West Street Live Sheffield.
Bands
British Racing Green
The Usual Pleasures
Bisque
The Lost Hybrids
Judging by the number of flyers i handed out directly outside the venue before the first band hit the stage, there were plenty of people willing to pay the £5 entrance fee to see the bands play.To say it was a weekday, there were lots of smiling happy faces enjoying some good live music.
This fundraiser was something we had talked about as a group at one of our earlier Tuesday Greenpeace meetings, so to see it come to fruition was very satisfying.
Special mention should go to all of the bands that gave their time to attend and also to Katie and her mum who collected the entrance money on the night and organised eveything to do with the bands and the venue.
Thanks must also go to all of the Greenpeace active volunteers who helped out on the night from the people who were at the Greenpeace table inside the venue, to those outside handing out flyers and providing people with information about Greenpeace and in particular the need to raise money for the new Rainbow Warrior 3 and the vital work it performs on the high seas.
An enjoyable night of live music, fun and one that raised money for an important good cause.
