STOP SOPA!

The Greenpeace UK website has gone dark today from 1pm to 1am GMT in protest at the proposed Stop Online Piracy Act (Sopa) and Protect-IP Act (Pipa) in the US. The US Congress is about to censor the internet.

If either Sopa or Pipa become law, Greenpeace websites could go dark, simply because one of the corporate brands we spoof files a claim that its intellectual property rights have been violated.

No proof required, no court hearing. Don't let corporate interests censor the internet.
