We
are currently looking for a dedicated Archive Intern to organise and
rationalise our extensive archives and suggest a framework for future
archiving. The intern will also be responsible for summarising Greenpeace UK’s
history as documented in the archive.
This
is an interesting role for somebody with previous experience in a relevant
field, for example archiving, research, biography or librarianship. Not only
will the intern learn about Greenpeace UK campaign development and achievements
over the last 30 years, but will also be instrumental in organising this
knowledge in an easily accessible way for internal users.
The
successful applicant will be highly organised, detail-oriented and experienced
at processing large amounts of written information accurately and concisely. S/he
will have a hands-on approach to delegated responsibilities and able to work
unsupervised.
Duration: Ideally, you would be able to work
full-time (Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours a week) on the project for a minimum
of 3 and up to 6 months. However, we will consider part-time and task share candidates
who can work a minimum of 2 days a week and can make a commitment to at least
60 days work.
Candidates
should be able to demonstrate their support for, and belief in, the aims of
Greenpeace and be able to commit to the full period of the internship, with some slight
flexibility available around the start and end dates.
