I was born in 1962 and am originally from South London but moved to Northampton to work for Carlsberg in 2004. After being made redundant, I took a life break and lived in Venezuela with my wife and our four children for 3 months where I majored in Spanglish. On my return I started working for a charity which aims to provide better lives for older people and I have now been there for 6 years.

It was in Northampton over 5 years ago that I first became active with Greenpeace, getting involved with the excellent and enthusiastic local group. I have helped to organize events and campaign activities, and have taken part in street actions, including being dressed as a Star Wars stormtrooper. More recently I have been trained – and trained others – in political lobbying for Greenpeace.

I have been involved with several NGOs and campaigning groups but Greenpeace attracts me more than all the others because of its activism and its results. Greenpeace takes action and affects change.

I am passionate about social justice and see climate change as punishing first those with the least and those least able to protect themselves.

Away from activism, I remain passionate about all of my loves. My family, my football team, my music, my books.

I honed my public speaking and communication skills by working with older teenagers for many years, both working in small groups and addressing larger groups of several hundred. I try to use plain English and a sense of humour to keep people’s attention.
