Having grown up in the countryside of deepest Dorset, I’ve always had a keen appreciation of nature and the biological systems that surround and support us. I trained as an engineer and settled into factory life working as a maintenance technician.

I’m now into my late 40’s, living in mid/south Wales with my partner Janet who is also a Greenpeace activist. Together we have a goal of being the change we wish to see and are hoping to dramatically reduce our carbon footprint by building a low impact, off-grid home.

Greenpeace is full of caring, passionate people, striving to make the world a better place and I have met some awesome people and made great friends through the organisation. I was particularly fortunate to be able to spend 2 weeks on the Rainbow Warrior (2) as a deck hand before she sailed to Kingsnorth power station.

Through campaigning with Greenpeace, I have become increasingly aware of the crossroads we now stand at, and how important it is for us to understand the effect we are having on the world around us and the implications not just for humans but for all life.

Now that I know what I know, my conscience will not allow me to sit idly by, I have to do whatever I can, even if that means chaining myself to an oil company or (even scarier) giving a Greenspeaker talk!

If you would like to contact Pete, to request he speaks at an upcoming event, then please complete the form below in as much detail as possible.
