Join volunteer groups around the UK for the Tesco local polling hand-in

Greenpeace Local Groups are handing in public polling they’ve done locally to Tesco on 30 October. Find your nearest group and join them in telling Tesco to stop destroying the Amazon.

Greenpeace is calling on Tesco to stop funding the destruction of the Amazon rainforest and other forests in Brazil through the purchase of its meat.

Chicken and pork on Tesco’s shelves comes from subsidiaries of JBS, the world’s largest meat company notorious for its links to deforestation and human rights abuses.

That’s not all – the massive amount of soya needed to feed the meat Tesco sells drives fires and deforestation elsewhere and especially in the Brazilian Cerrado, the world’s most biodiverse savannah.

Since earlier this year Greenpeace volunteers and supporters have been visiting Tesco stores across the UK calling on them to drop JBS and other forest destroyers from their suppliers and reduce the amount of meat on sale.

During October our network of Local Groups have been talking to members of the public outside Tesco stores in their communities. On October 30th they will deliver the results of their polling to Tesco store managers and would like you to join them.
