North East Greenspeaker – Rosie Hogg
Rosie is a Greenspeaker based in Newcastle and she is happy to deliver Greenpeace presentations across the North East, often buddying up with another nearby Greenspeaker, Malcolm Reid, to do joint presentations. If you would like to contact Rosie, to request she speaks at an upcoming event, then please complete the form below.
I have always had an interest in protecting our planet, however until recently I’ve been a fairly passive supporter. In 2011 I saw a film celebrating Greenpeace’s successes over the last 40 years and decided it was time to become more active.
Through being a Greenspeaker I hope to get the interested passives (like I was!) a little more active and to help raise awareness of what is happening to our world. If people are unaware of the consequences of their actions they are unlikely to do anything to change them. Even when people are aware of what is happening, I think they feel daunted by what they can do to make a difference. I believe that through sharing the work of Greenpeace we can help to educate, inspire and activate people to work together to save our planet.
Outside of Greenpeace I work as a teacher in a special needs school. In my free time I like to be outdoors whenever possible; whether it’s out mountain biking or pottering around in my back yard and allotment. I enjoy meditating, films, and baking. And I’m a big fan of good coffee, tea and cake 🙂
