Come visit us at Glastonbury

Climbing training at Glastonbury

It’s almost Glastonbury time. And while I wouldn’t call it panic, yet, the excitement is mounting since the crew went down to Worthy Farm at the weekend to begin construction of the Greenpeace field.

We’ve been planning for months and we’ve got a crackin’ assortment of activities, performances, stalls and special guests this year. And to top it off, all of Glastonbury is getting in on the action to help stop climate change.

Everyone at the festival will be asked to sign up to the I Count campaign. You’ll get a "We can stop climate chaos" wrist band when you arrive and people signing up to get involved will join the rising total displayed on the Pyramid stage.

On the Greenpeace field, you’ll be able to stroll through our organic gardens made from willow and hazel and pick up an organic meal in our 24-hour cafe. This year Café Tango will also offer free green energy (you’ll need to bring your own chargers – assuming we get it all working before you get there).

We’ll also have the Soil Association’s vegetable band The Courgettes playing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 1pm. Apparently they eat their vegetables after the show.

The Soil Association has also put together a climate-friendly food guide to Glastonbury. Come and pick up a copy of the guide to find the best places to enjoy climate-friendly food that is organic, local and fresh.

You can clean up at our free carbon neutral showers that use hot water produced by solar and biomass energy. Just bring along a towel, we’ll provide the environmentally friendly shower gel courtesy of Ecover.

More to come tomorrow when you'll find out the line-up for our Techno Dome.
