If you're an up and coming skater (or a good faker) here’s your chance to win tickets to Glastonbury Festival.
Our skateboard park is a highlight of our field at Glastonbury and this year we’ve already confirmed performances by pro skaters including riders from eS, Vans, Santa Cruz and Death and this is your chance to be among them at this year’s festival.
The park was designed by Heathensk8 and Third Foot and made to showcase Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood kindly donated by B&Q who sell FSC timber throughout their home improvement and garden centre chain.
To win one of the three pairs of tickets post a video of your skating on YouTube or MPORA or any other so long as you then add the link to the video as a comment on this page (you’ll have to register with this site if you haven’t already, but that means we will be able to contact you if you win).
You don’t have to be a skater to take part - there are three categories to the competition:
- best trick
- best run (40 seconds max) and
- the third is at the judges’ discretion.
The winner of judges’ discretion category could be almost anything - the skating related clip that made them laugh, cry or send the clip to all their friends. It means that everyone can get a crack at winning. Be creative - get their attention and the tickets are yours!
You can submit one clip for each category and best trick will be judged on the first trick in the clip.
The results will be judged by Sidewalk magazine. Winners of the best trick and best run categories will get the chance to skate with the team at the festival. The winner of the judge’s discretion category will simply get free tickets.
The competition ends at midnight GMT on 9 June 2008. Once the judges have made their decision we will inform the winners by email. You will need to confirm you will be able to attend the festival within two working days or the tickets will go to the second choice entry.
Glastonbury Festival is the 26-29th of June, and if you don’t win tickets here, you can still buy tickets here and join in the open sessions on the skate ramp and learn the ropes, we’ll provide the boards. At night the park will magically transforms into an entertainment stage with screens, VJ’s and live music performances.
Here are the official rules. Hope to see you there.
