Playmobil's airport security set

Curios and bizarros currently floating around in hyperspace:

  • Heathrow activists beware. Playmobil have turned their cute claw-handed plastic toys to the defence of the realm with an airport security kit, including x-ray machine, walk-through metal detector and handheld sweepy gizmo. (From Foreign Policy.)
  • Tired of cheddar, stilton or brie? Try some cheese made from human milk.
  • As if bikes weren't green enough, here comes one made from bamboo. Whether it's GM-free and organic bamboo isn't certain. (Via Hugg.)
  • A deep-freeze seed bank opened for business on the Norwegian island of Svalbard to keep the world in frozen peas and sweetcorn after the apocalypse.
  • In an attempt to make low-emission cars look bad ass, A Prius look-alike has made its way into the latest installment of Grand Theft Auto.
  • And with today being the 29th of February, strange things are afoot. The National Trust, for instance, has given all its staff the day off providing they complete a 12-page list of climate change chores.
