Copenhagen - Voices for Change

The Copenhagen Climate Change Summit this December represents the best chance we have of reaching a deal to reverse current emissions trends in time to prevent climate chaos.

This is the first in a series of videos, Voices for Change, which talks to some of those who're already suffering aroung the world as a result of climate change. We'll be publishing more in the weeks running up to Copenhagen.

We're also collaborating with many other organisations to collect stories from those affected by climate change. If climate change is affecting you or your region - please send in your story to our Climate Orb! If you're witnessing unusual changes in your environment - whether it's flooding, droughts or simply noticing the birds that don't come to your garden anymore - we want to hear about it.

Hear stories from people around the world being affected by climate change, or tell one of your own »

I have been astounded and very depressed by at what has been happening with the Science Museum PROVE IT! exhibition and petition. The exhibition at the Science Museum which presents the scientific evidence for anthropogenic global warming and the petition, which is intended to demonstrate the British public's support for a legally binding and global climate change legislation at the Copenhagen talks next month, are at great risk of seriously backfiring if we do not get a lot more support for the science.

The petition got off to a bad start for the scientific evidence for AGW with only one in six members of the public showing that they were convinced by it. However things have now changed direction and the votes currently stand at one in three saying they are convinced by the evidence for AGW and wishing to be "counted in".

There are only 30 days left for us to present a strong petition to ministers at Copenhagen pushing them to act decisively with public backing. So please go to the museum's website (see below) now, review the evidence, and then vote to show the politicians that the British public supports a serious agreement next month at Copenhagen. Then pass the message on!

Don't let this initiative fail.
