Labour comes out swinging on fracking in Balcombe

Freshly delivered into letterboxes in Balcombe - a strongly worded (bordering on downright anti-) fracking leaflet from the local Labour Party.

"We salute the protesters’ well organised campaign to combat fracking’s threats to health, the environment and local democracy," says the letter, which is attributed to the Mid Sussex Constituency Labour Party.

It goes on to say Labour supports "residents who simply want to safeguard their water supply, their surroundings and their way of life against an unproven technology" and accuses the government of over-ruling local planning powers.

Fighting words from a party that has so far only dipped its toes into the widening pool of fracking opposition across the country.

What say you David Cameron?
