If the testimonies of our two Congolese visitors weren't enough to convince you that there's trouble of the arboreal variety brewing in the Democratic Republic of Congo, try this film for size.
More sober than our previous animated explanation, it nevertheless gets right to the heart of the problem. Most evocative for me is landowner who details exactly what his village received from the logging companies for access to their area of forest.
But the film also shows what a magnificent and vibrant part of the world it is, one that is worth protecting. If you agree, you can email your MP asking them to show their support for moves to protect the Congo rainforest. And don't forget your email to Hilary Benn, development secretary, who is in a prime position to make sure it happens.
