Dove leads the onslaught(er)

A couple of videos that throw our new Dove campaign into sharp relief. The first is a rather stonking effort from our international office, taking Dove's own Onslaught film as it's inspiration (you can see the original here). The second, some highlights from the fun and games in London and Merseyside earlier today. Enjoy.

Green Peace must change its policy on opposing the annual Canadian Seal hunt. Very little of this issue relates to the environment EXCEPT that the populations MUST be culled to remain healthy.

The next arguement against Seal Hunting is one of animal cruelty. The hunt is no more cruel than many other hunts and it can be argued that it is more "humane" than what goes on in slaughter houses around the world - just more visible.

Congratulations to the Russian Government on their decision to ban tha slaughter of Harp Seals. This is s barbaric activity which has no place in a civilised societyThe only other two uncivilised nations left that carry out this annual atrocity are the Canadians and the Norwiegens. Both a disgrace to humanity and along with the Japanese Whalers deserve our condemnation.these killers are doing untold damage to their nations and respectability.

More good news this week at last the slaughter of seals off the scottish coast is to be banned fishermen will not be allowed to continue with the indiscriminate slaughter of seals around the coast of Scotland as they have been doing for a number of years now.
This has come hard on the heels of the European Union's, soon to come into force,a complete ban on the import of seal pelts and other seal products.
This is I believe the death knell for the barbaric and unneccessary slaughter of seals by the Canadian thugs who skin and club seal pups often while still alive to death they behave like a bunch of Hitlers Nazis.
Good on the EU for taking this stance and the action of the Russian's banning the slaughter of baby Harp seals descibing as a boody game is to be applauded.
If the Canadians have any sense they will see that the game is up and stop this murderous activity now and join the rest of us in a civilised society.

More good news for coservationists this week. The European Parliament voted on Tuesday 05 April 2009 for a total ban on the import of seal products the vote was 550 for the ban and only 49 against. This was immediatly attacked by the despicable Canadian government as unfair, well tough. This action by 27 European Governments surely spells the death knell for the annual bloody slaughter of the seals by the maniacal Canadian sealers.Conservationists all over the world will rejoice in this courageous step and these Governments deserve our thanks and congratulations. This was not only a blow for the seal killers but a victory for morality and humanity.

More good news for the seals of Canada the, USA Senate on the 7th May this year passed Resolution 84 calling for Canada to immediatly put an end to their commercial seal hunt. This comes only a matter of days after the European Union voted for a total ban on all seal products.Over 1,000,000 seals from the age of 12 days to 12 weeks have been slaughtered in the most horrible and cruel way. This has been described by no less a person than Russian President Putin " as a bloody buisness". Canada tried and failed miserably to get the American Government to change their Marine Bill and came out looking like a bunch of crazed fools. They seem not to get the message that the world recognise their continued slaghter of these animals as the actions of a blood crazed third world country and has no place in a moral or civilised society. My thank go to the USA Senate for giving the Canadian buthchers the two fingered salute. This now brings to the total of worldwide countries to 37.It can not be long now before this salaughter will come to an end due to the fact it will soon be non economical to continue with it.
