The festival season continued last weekend with the Mostly Jazz festival, a new jazz festival based in Moseley Park (the same place the Moseley folk festival is held). This was the festivals first year so wasn’t as big as the folk festival but we’re pleased that Birmingham & Black Country Greenpeace was able to be part of the event. It included acts such as the Sun Ra Arkestra and Polar Bear.
We were based in a tent with other NGO’s Friends of the Earth and Oxfam and had a pretty good view of the stages from where we were based. We continued with our BP Tar sands campaign and got a few more people to sign up / get involved with the campaign. I think we’re now ready for the next stage of the campaign and will be paying a visit to BP soon.
The festival was on over the weekend of the 3rd an 4th July and overall it was a good event and we seemed to get a positive response from the festival goers, hopefully we’ll be back again next year.
