Trident street poll in Dudley town centre

Street Polling

Last weekend we conducted a poll of local residents in Dudley town centre. We asked each shopper/visitor the following question –

“Do you think the government should spend £97 billion on new nuclear weapons?”

The poll of local Dudley residents, has found that so far 100% think that the next government should cancel plans to spend £97 billion on new nuclear weapons, which is really encouraging. We'd never tried campaigning in Dudley before so we didn't know how local shoppers would respond to our stall. Normally when we have campaigned in Birmingham we have to actively go up and engage with shoppers to get them involved. In Dudley however we found that a lot of people were coming up to our stall without any prompting and not one of them voted to replace Trident!

We'll definitely be coming back to Dudley in the future and we will also be carrying on conducting the poll over the next few weeks.
