Members of Bristol East Greenpeace were gaining signatures from the audience at the one night showing of the award winning documentary, Chasing Ice, shown at The Cube cinema.  Most of those attending the full house showing were more than willing to support our Save the Arctic campaign, whilst others had already signed the online petition or been previously caught by us in the street.

The 90 minute documentary is well recommended and confirms the worries that climate change is having a irreversible effect on the Arctic and the countries surrounding the area.  The film focuses on environmental photographer, James Balog and his Extreme Ice Survey team who record the ice melt of glaciers in Alaska, Iceland and Greenland.  It documents that these majestic rivers of ice are receding at an alarming rate and thus changing the landscape that has existed for tens of thousands of years.  The video clip below shows the amazing scenes of an iceberg the size of Manhatten 'calving' into the sea of the Greenland coast at Iluslisatt.

Thanks to Sue, Mark, loz and Richard for gaining another 60+ signatures for the Save the Arctic campaign.  To add you name to the Arctic scroll before 11th February 2013 click here
