Made it to the North Pole !

Hi there,

Hope you like the picture of me at the North Pole - well the Arctic scene at the Nova festival - many thanks to Paul at http://www.sifter.net/

Yes I had a great time, we recruited many to our SavetheArctic.org - numbers at 962,473 right now....have you put your name on the Scroll - the first One Million ;names will be placed on the North Pole by Greenpeace......and the man who is going to help, real live Arctic Explorer Jim McNeill who has visited the region, I understand, for the last 28 years......

Thanks to all the team, especially Katy, who helped so much in the dressing up, and Paul, who took the photos,  Anne and Paula the Polar bear who amazed our visitors, and to everyone for another great festival - wellies all week but wonderful Posh showers and home-cooked breakfast too...

You do understand that if you become active in your local group you too could be camping in a marsh (as verified by Rhoda who pointed out the grasses) and walking 500 yards (at least) for the loo....Mind you, you might miss the campsite, the sunsets, the music and the shows at the Cabaret....as well as entertaining visitors and introducing them to Greenpeace and our Arctic campaign....and having a laugh with them when they dress up.....

If you could find the time to come to our monthly meetings at the Greyhound in Bromley (we sit under the picture of Darwin at the back entrance) and maybe join for two hours on a Saturday afternoon (or Thursday late-night shopping), you too could join the Greenpeace teams at the festivals lined up for next year...including Glastonbury.....

Look forward to seeing you soon, our next monthly meeting is on August 21st and we will have the Shell and SavetheArctic campaigns for some time to go.....Greenpeace gives free one-day training sessions in Street Campaigning, where you can lean the tircks of the trade....let me know if you would like to go.....

Come join our campaigns it is 'do-able' and you will meet up with fun-loving people who like to enjoy themselves...local groups run bike rides, there are usually places for on-going training and of course, meeting the great British public on the street and telling them what we are up to.....

Hope you saw all the picturs of Polar bears popping up in the UK, France, Denmark, Argentina...we need to stop any oil drilling in the Arctic - there is only three years worth of oil there...it might be billions of dollars worth, however, we would loose homes for the #narwal, #polarbear #arcticfoxand other creatures... join a group and see if you can win a trip to the Arctic - someone is going to !

Hope to see you soon.....well before Glastonbury next year....
