Well, I am back, from yet another exhilarating Glastonbury festival, where I opened the gate to Michael Eavis, saw U2 live at the Pyramid stage, heard live Duane Eddy (one of the first electric guitarists) and many other wonderful artists on the West Holts stage, as well as lots of bands in cafes and venues, including the fantastic Molotov Cooperative, who played live on the Greenpeace stage, and the impromptu Beat box at the Stone Circle on Sunday night...As well as 'working' on the gate (hence the picture) it was great to have a Greenpeace shower in the open air, walk round with friends old and new and take part in debates, talks and community sing-songs, both on the festival site and round the camp fire..... We celebrated Greenpeace's 40th birthday too, so there was much to be happy about. There is no Glastonbury festival next year, word is that all the portaloos in the UK are going to be centered round London for the Olymipics..however, there is always one year when the land, and the Cows are given a break to recover. I hope that you will all get active with the group in the coming months and by doing so, ensure your place at Glastonbury...the biggest - and most varied - festival in the world....
