 Hi all,

Just had to pass on the Occupy Duke from Greenpeace, USA: We are always active somewhere in the world.... http://us.greenpeace.org/site/R?i=GLMLLylG4IBfBs6cOtKAVw

A couple of important dates here in the UK too, firstly is this:

Campaign against Climate Change     www.campaigncc.org

 AGM – Saturday 3rd March 2012

Come and help us plan for the year's campaigning. See how you can get involved!

Venue: Room B102, SOAS, Brunei Gallery, Russell Square campus. See here

Time: 12pm - 5pm

Discuss the upcoming year’s campaigning in the light of:

what the "agreement" reached at the Durban COP really means and how we should be reacting to it.

what we can expect from the Rio Summit and how will the US election effect global action on climate change and our campaigning around it?

If you want to come and make a difference, a suggestion, or give your support, you will be most welcome...

Should you have the time please contemplate a day trip to the country...

Join the Stop New Nuclear alliance on Saturday 10th March and become one of the 5,000 people who will make a human chain around EDF Energy’s nuclear power plant at Hinkley Point in Somerset.

The action will be a mass demonstration of our opposition to the government’s ‘nuclear renaissance’  - and a pledge that we will continue to blockade the site with more and more people until Cameron and Huhne cancel the nuclear programme and introduce a greener, fairer energy strategy to combat climate change (like Germany is doing and as Greenpeace is advocating).

A low-cost coach will be available from central London to take campaigners to Somerset (leaving around 7.30am and returning at 5.30pm).  The event is designed to be a celebration of dissent and will be low-risk.

Coach leaves at 7.30am from the Embankment (on the river side, opposite Embankment tube) and will also pick up at 8.15am from outside the Hammersmith Apollo (near the Hammersmith District/Piccadilly Line station). It will arrive at Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station by the start of the Surround Hinkley demonstration, which starts at noon.

Coach will leave Hinkley, for return journey, at 5.30pm prompt, to get back to London by about 9.30pm.

Tickets are £25; or £15, or as much as you can afford, unwaged.

However, if you can only give Greenpeace a few hours this month, come join us in our stall thisSaturday 18th February  in Penge High Street, near the Boots corner (inside the shopping mall if wet) Meet 11.30 for a 12 noon start, with our new campaigns coming up it would be good to catch up....

Or if you can only manage a couple of hours on a Wednesday night, come join in our discussion and chat at O'Neil's pub,  27 East Street, Bromley, BR1 1QE from 7.30pm. We usually sit on the left in the very front section...do come and have fun with caring, like-minded people...Hope to see you there............

Happy Valentines Day !

Roisin
