Hi everyone...
I just thought you might like to see this, and perhaps get in touch with friends - or join on facebook and let your friends know -
so that you can take part in stopping this. As you may be aware, Greenpeace first started by raising the alarm about UsofA's live nuclear bomb testing in Alaskan waters and it's effects on Whale migration routes....and followed on with the 3-man 14 ft Ketch 'sit-in' under Frances live nuclear bomb tests on Mururoa Atoll, French Polynesia, so Nuclear has been at the heart of Greenpeace campaigns ever since.....
On Nuclear, bear in mind that as a person, none of us has any say in how the Govt implements it's National Strategic Plan, which include ten new nuclear power stations, the decisions are made at Council level - this is the first for a dump, although many of you will have followed the Stop Nuclear campaign against Hinckley Point, http://stopnuclearpoweruk.net/ andhttp://www.facebook.com/SouthWestAgainstNuclear
Hope you all put the date Saturday 9th February, between 1pm – 3pm, all volunteers needed to do the garage on Bromley Hill/London Lane, towards Downham in your diaries, as we need to make a stand against drilling in the Arctic - with Pres Obama being urged to halt Arctic Drilling therehttp://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2013/jan/18/shell-oil-drilling-arctic-environment, while the UK Govt has pledged support for continued protection on Antartica - but not in the Arctic - yet BP and Exxon Mobile both want to exploit oil in the Arctic region, and we hear of the cosy relationships our Govt has with BIG companies, see here: http://m.guardian.co.uk/politics/2013/jan/18/buddy-scheme-multinationals-access-ministers our task has become more urgent.
On another tack, have a look at this site, it's got lots of useful information on it...http://www.stakeholderforum.org/sf/outreach/
Hope you can help...
