Around 20 protesters marched from Swiss Cottage yesterday to the nearby Marriotts hotel with banners to protest against the extraction of unconventional fuels. The police were waiting for us but it passed off peacefully despite some strong chanting in front of the hotel forecourt. Among those present were members from Lingfield (Surrey) Anti-Fracking Group a place that has been targeted for drilling for 'Fracking' or fracturing and drilling for methane gas. Croydon Greenpeace will lend them our support in their attempt to dissuade companies from drilling in their neighbourhood.
