Hi everyone,
We had a short meeting on Monday 8 April at Wharf Chambers but it was good to see everyone who turned up : Cath, Carla, Nick, Barbara and new member Noemi. Thank you all for coming along.
Our Concert for Project Pod has been postponed but we hope to go ahead with a musical event later in the year with help from our friends at Leeds College of Music. More later.
There was news of festivals and if anyone is interested in volunteering to help Greenpeace at a number of festivals happening this summer, please get in touch with me or Joe for more details. The Outreach Team are running a pilot project thisyear, co-ordinating a Greenpeace presence at local and regional festivals (not the massive Glastonbury ones), with the aim of recruiting new supporters. If you know of a local festival please tell us about it and we will try to put it on the calendar and get a stall organised. This will depend on volunteers in our Leeds group who can man the stall and co-ordinate the application.
Video skills: Nick kindly offered to run a 'mini' video skills workshop so we will try to get that organised for sometime this summer. There is a brilliant Video Skills Training session run by NeilJones (Camden Network) which will take place in London on Saturday May 18th. Interested? Get in touch with Joe or myself.
I LOVE THE ARCTIC. We are hoping to get a lot of people involved in the speech bubble campaign on Saturday 20 April when we will be in Leeds from 11am to 3pm (see Events for details) or contact myself or Joe. Please join us.
Date of next meeting: Monday 13 May 2013 at Wharf Street Chambers 6.30pm.
