Fracking in Herefordshire and Worcestershire? - No Thank You.Worcestershire Greenpeace brought the possibility of Fracking in the County to the attention of local residents today with a piece on BBC Hereford and Worcester Radio Breakfast Show. - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01cx7f0Malvern Greenpeace member, Jason reported "live from a field" in Malvern, about the fact that 64% of the UK has now been offered up for license to energy companies who want to make a quick, tax-deductible, buck from fracking and H & W is not out of the woods yet. - The report started a huge debate on and after the Breakfast show. Leading to local MP Bill Wiggins to admit that the technology was not fully tested and the Shadow Minister for energy stating, that Bill Wiggins did not dispute, that shale gas wont bring down gas prices. People that contacted the show, some did support fracking, but still were concerned about the impact whereas the greater amount of people who contacted the show were concerned about the very things we have been making people aware of. - Pollution, Earth tremors and the short term Dash for Gas.The number of people supporting the Ban Fracking from Herefordshire facebook page doubled during the show and the story made it to the main lunchtime headlines. You can still contact your local councillor and ask them to confirm that they would not allow fracking in your area use this link to the Greenpeace website - https://secure.greenpeace.org.uk/page/speakout/stop-fracking?source=wb&s...
