Planning for a Sustainable Living
You are invited to a FREE one-day training workshop for those working with communities on community-led planning for a sustainable future. The workshop is being run by the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) and funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government.
The Localism Act, the introduction of the Feed-in Tariffs for renewable electricity, and the Renewable Heat Incentive. These combine to produce a fertile environment for community-led planning approaches to low-carbon development and real growth in community ownership of renewable energy generation.
This one-day workshop will help communities take advantage of this shift. It will introduce you to a suite of tools and information designed to support communities to plan low-carbon and renewable energy initiatives, including more strategic engagement with the statutory planning system.
This event is designed for community group members or those working with communities on any local planning or sustainable living initiatives and who would like a more robust understanding of the issues and interactive tools to use with their client groups. It is particularly relevant to officers of:
• Local authorities
• Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty
• Third sector organisations working in the field of community empowerment, community led planning, or sustainability groups.
Further details are attached, including information on the PlanLoCal resource pack, which attendees of the event will receive.
