Tree Planting

Thankfully the rain didn't fall for once on the 21st, as local MP Sir Gerald Kaufman helped us dig a hole in Plattfields park orchard that was big enough for our sizeable but appropriately named 'Greensleaves' Apple tree.

Also Jo baked some lovely apple cake which was very well received, so thank you Jo!

Great picture! I thought it was a fantastic occasion,  revealing so much support from so many people, park rangers Dave and Maria (?),  the Friends, Sir Gerald who gave a lovely little speech linking the floods in Cumbria to the effects of climate change all over the world and how it mattered that we all took action of some kind and from not only regular activists in the network, but other Greenpeace supporters in the area. A great team effort and brilliant work from Esther and Lottie determinedly working their way through the maze of council decision making. Well done Manchester!

Been trying to keep up with all the goings on when Im in a place with internet and got on the Greenpeace UK website and saw Lottie there smiling away!
Looked like a proper good day at Platt Fields and hats off all round I say! :)

Heading to go work with Greenpeace Thailand over the climate summit and then later down to Indonesia, as it all sounds a bit crazy down there shutting down paper mills and such like!

Hope everyones good back in good ol Manco, looking forward to some tasty apple cake n gossip when I get back! ;)

Much love y'all!

Bob
