John, Ben and Jane working on the KFC Petition

The sun was out, it was unbelievably hot and most of Matlock was flaked out in the park watching movies. The hardier ones made it across to the Greenpeace Spring Fair in the Imperial Rooms, where there were tea and cakes, raffles, jumble, plants and bric a brac galore. Which raised an amazing £575 - thanks to all who contributed in whatever way.

Also on offer, our brand new campaign. KFC are the latest company discovered to be using APP products (ie illegally trashed Indonesian rainforest), to make those horrid paper cups they serve up their chicken in.

So with the help of a few images off the website, some clipart stickers, a big pile of crayons and felt tips, and of course lots of enthusiastic helpers, we created an art petition, featuring the forest before and after KFC and APP wrecked it. We'll be sending it to KFC's bosses next week. Just what they need for the board room wall.
