About 20 Greenpeace activists took part in our reminder to Apple that they need to clean up their choice of electricity supplies for 'the cloud' which is going to consume huge amounts of electricity to run the servers. We targeted the massive Apple store on Regent Street in London. While some of us put up huge posters in the windows others went into the store with baskets full of (beautiful) black apples made from coal dust, with our message on them, to give out to customers. The staff were onto us very quickly, but later other activists went into the shop and changed as many of the monitors as possible to show the 'clean up the icloud' website. Other protests have been happening across the world. Hopefully Apple will change its sources of electricity to live up to its reputation as a modern progressive company.
