Despite dire weather predictions of rain it was a lovely, if very windy, day in Nottingham. We gathered to collect messages of support for our 28 activists and 2 freelance journalists who have been imprisonned in Russia. The Sheriff of Nottingham stopped by and had his photo taken with us and Robin Hood dashed by (he really did but he had a load of tourists with him so couldn't stop) as well. Lots of people had heard about the day of solidarity and came up to us to sign messages of support. The Evening Post sent a photographer so hopefully we will be in the paper on Monday or Tuesday. We got 157 messages to send - including one from a Finnish lady and and Italian gentleman who sent personal messages in their own language to the activists who hailed from Finland and Italy. Thanks to Tim and Mick who came over from Derby to help and to Sue and Paul who saw the event on the web page and came along to help as well.
