Nottingham Group poll Asda West Bridgford customers

Posted by SueSip - 18 March 2010 at 8:18pm - 8 Comments

Jane, Helen, Jamie, Jake, Cath and Sue polled around 100 customers visiting Asda, West Bridgford tonight.  Overwhelming majority said "NO" to the government spending £97,000,000,000 on Trident Nuclear Missles.  Not only this, but it meant that we raised the awareness of over 100 people - we got the message across!  This event followed out Street Communications training on 13 March, so we were able to practise what we learnt.  Brilliant result!  Thanks to all for your time.

Sue

the actual total was 183 cards with about 10 people who voted in favour of more nuclear weapons. We will leave those in the collection to show it is a true representation of people's thoughts and not skewed in any way.

I was there too! :-(

Sorry I left your name off Helen. Tried to edit the blog, but it's gone off screen now.... I owe you a drink next time we meet up. Sue

Trying to find a contact for you but nothing, so posted this here. If you find this can you pass it on.

I notice you have screened Gasland recently. We are up to our arses in shale gas protests here in France and wonder why there is nothing in the way of a protest movement in Blackpool ( Iknow it's miles away - but you guys ahve seen the movie). Anyway have a look at www.schistehappens.com and see if you can wake up you colleagues in Lancashire

Hi rpj,

Thank for motivating me , I''ve pushed for action today but we are fighting many fronts ,especially as the new gov here is so pro nuclear with so many bungs thrown around its obvoius ,we have more new build nuclear ,coal power and mines ,fracking ,Incineration and environmental standards ,renewables grants ,permissions and agencies reduced for big business benefit.

Agent provactuers are actively undermining environment groups here ,either state police infultrating or businness spies ,stirring things up.

I will keep pushing ,keep up the good work!

Fingers crossed for the Japanese people.

Hi there!
