Aurora launch at Oxford allotments

We love taking Greenpeace campaigns to the Elder Stubbs Allotments festival and open day. It's a wonderful community of concerned and thoughtful people so it was a great place to give news of AURORA its first outing around here. I don't know how many metres of ribbon got covered with names but it was a lot. We signed up still more arctic defenders - though it's the sort of place where you meet quite a few people who've already signed up - but who are now all fired up about seeing a giant polar bear in the streets of London. And cuddly toys, bric a brac and plant sales generated some very helpful cash too! The weather held and the cake was great. Several people ventured into the polar bear costume - and Chris had his first ever experience of a Greenpeace costume - took to it like a duck to water - or a polar bear to an ice floe. A good day out!
