Election candidates are getting the message about Trident replacement

Posted by bpeter_101 - 18 April 2010 at 12:26am - Comments

I sent out an email today to local activists asking them to consider writing to their MPs with a letter asking for their views on Trident replacement, with links to the Greenpeace 'Cut Trident' site, and also to CND's website, which has a useful page on election campaigning.

I had the following reply from Gareth Epps, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Reading East, who is one of the subscribers to the groups I sent my email to:

"Peter, in case you were wondering, I have had 1 letter on Afghanistan and around 20 on Trident!

The latter is the biggest subject of any real substance on which I am getting correspondence, interestingly."

The message on Trident replacement is getting through to candidates in at least one constituency.  Let's keep up the good work, and if you haven't already written to your candidates, please do so!
