How would you raise £6 billion?

Posted by bpeter_101 - 7 April 2010 at 10:57am - Comments

The Guardian is debating the issue of increases in National Insurance or VAT, which is proving to be one of the early economic battlegrounds of the election campaign.

The paper's article asks readers to give their comments on how the next government could raise £6 billion to fund its future spending programmes.

Not surprisingly, there have been a number of comments suggesting that the £97 billion programme to replace Trident nuclear weapons should be cancelled!
