Liam Fox has told the Telegraph that Britain doesn’t have the cash to defend itself from every threat. What can I say? All the arguments were put forward yesterday in Louise's blog. Theanswer is staring the coalition government in the face. It was the declared policy of the Lib Dems to include Trident in the strategic defence review, before the election that is. Will they really go for this option of slashing everything because “they know keeping Trident is the right thing to do”? Or isthere a glimmer of a chance that someone will recognize that the one thing theworld can’t afford is nuclear weapons?
