Both Labour and the Conservatives have been attacking the Liberal Democrats over their plans to scrap Trident replacement following Nick Clegg's success in raising the issue on the televised debate between the three party leaders.
Liam Fox for the Tories has resorted to mud-slinging whilst Bob Ainsworth for Labour has described Lib Dem policies as "ridiculous". Both the BBC and the Daily Telegraph have reported the story, although neither has discussed the real issues or costs behind Trident replacement.
