Airplot - Heathrow court victory...

Posted by dshubble - 26 March 2010 at 6:24pm - Comments

If you haven't already heard, the campaign against the Heathrow 3rd runway has won a major court victory with the judge, Lord Justice Carnwath, agreeing that climate change threats had not been taken seriously enough. It was a complex judgment and he declined to quash the controversial proposal but did indicate that the original position adopted in the government's authorisation was untenable. He also ordered Whitehall officials to give a formal undertaking that they would carry out a further policy review.

So, Heathrow expansion hasn't gone away, but  this is an important victory - and shows theat the volunteers signing up Beneficial Owners, planting trees, going on actions etc etc are vital if we are to win this outright.
