Tynedale Greenpeace was active in its support for the Newcastle Skillshare on Saturday 24th January. Our aim was to have a fun day and to help our neighbour strengthen its community. We certainly succeeded in the first and hopefully helped the second along too.The event was held in the Lit and Phil - handy for us Tynedalers who'd come in by train. Malcolm Carroll set us a lunchtime task of finding LOAFs for lunch - food that was local, organic, animal friendly and fairly traded. Both teams did well - the Grainger market had a lot to offer. During the rest of the day we shared ideas on current campaings, discussed the strengthening of the North East 'spine' of communities including Leeds, York and Newcastle, viewed the latest Greenpeace films and entertain our Jedis who were once again busy on the streets of Newcastle. Tynedale group hopes to give support to Newcastle in the future with joint work on actions.
