Tar Sands on "How the Earth Made Us"

The vast area of devastation caused by the Tar Sands mining in Alberta, Canada was shown to stunning effect on the program "How the Earth Made Us" shown tonight on BBC2. The programme entitled "Human Planet" highlighted the quest for oil, coal & the carbon reserves on our planet in all it's fascinating forms. The second half of the programme focused on the terrible impact that man's relentless pursuit is having on the earth. See the program in full on BBC2 iPlayer:

Newcastle Training Day

Thanks to Phil & Alice for a really good day. We learned a lot and I'm sure this will come in useful very soon. I'd recommend the training day to anyone who hasn't been on one before.
