The photo on our welcome message is from our recent I ♥ Arctic campaign in Chesterfield on Bank Holiday Monday. We shared the stall with Nottingham & Matlock Greenpeace groups collecting photos of supporters with our polar bear & speech bubble saying "I ♥ Arctic". Greenpeace will be at the Arctic Council meeting in Kiruna, Sweden on 15 May to hand over photos collected from all Greenpeace groups to the 8 Arctic nations & observer nations who include the UK, France and China, all of them trying to obtain rights to drill for oil. The Arctic is a pristine haven for indigenous tribes living traditionally, magnificent animals such as the polar bear, narwhal, walrus, Arctic foxes & owls but the ice is melting and the Arctic ocean is swiftly becoming more acidic and as it warms it threatens severe consequences for us all. Also check out the video of our stage struck polar bear - stardom beckons!
