Breaking news from the BBC that BP have been given consent to drill a deep water well off the west Shetland coast. The North Uist well is about 125km (78 miles) to the north west of the islands, at a depth of nearly 1,300m. The WWF & Scotish Wildlife Trust have already condemed the move & I'm sure we won't be far behind them.
