This Saturday, Greenpeace volunteers will be out in force on the streets of London inviting people to sign petition cards to Volkswagen, and we’d like to invite you to support them by joining in a grand game of Spot the Stormtrooper.

Pick up a Picasso

Earlier this year one of our long-standing and generous supporters, Frederick Mulder, offered to help Greenpeace fundraise for the Rainbow Warrior. As an international art dealer specialising in Picasso, he gifted us a number of limited edition pieces, all part of a series of unique linocut posters created by Picasso for the southern French town of Vallauris between 1951-65.

In June a small group of Greenpeace volunteers and activists launched our campaign against Volkswagen hijacking London’s largest ad space. A week ago hundreds of Greenpeace volunteers launched a wave of activism across the UK and Europe.

Bid for one of forty celebrity experiences or memorabilia

Fancy a practice session with the world’s number one footballer Lionel Messi, or maybe you’d like backstage passes to a Jamiroquai concert in Paris? Or perhaps you would prefer a Picasso to hang on your wall, or a signed print of an original Greenpeace photograph?

Rachel stuck in a hard spot

Today is the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day and for several weeks I've been thinking about what Greenpeace can do to support it. I know that to many people, Greenpeace looks like a macho organisation, and it has to be said that the world of non-violent direct actions in Greenpeace is a male-dominated world.

The people's choice. The blob fish.

Nearly 4,000 people voted in our poll to find a new friend for Greenpeace Giving's Ugly Fish. If you were one of them, thanks very much for exercising your democratic right. The result was a landslide, with over 50% of the votes going to one, particularly (un)attractive, candidate.

The Ugly Fish needs a new friend!

Can football save the planet?

Love it or hate it, there's no escaping the huge football tournament that's taking place in South Africa at the moment.

You may have expected that Greenpeace would be a World Cup free zone, given that it's not the most environmentally-friendly event ever. But we're doing our bit to try and help the World Cup leave a positive legacy for the people of South Africa, and we've launched a special edition Greenpeace Giving virtual gift to celebrate.

Greenpeace Africa is providing a solar viewing area in the village of Jericho in the North West Province of South Africa. This means that villagers, who may not otherwise be able to watch the World Cup, will be able to view the matches on big screens powered entirely by solar panels.

If you've been visiting our website regularly, you may have spotted a small but significant change which occurred a couple of weeks ago, when a new 'Community' link appeared in the navigation box to your left. That weeny grey box leads to a whole new section of the website we've been developing over the past year, namely the new online home for our network of active supporter groups across the country.
