How we make change

This resource is part of our Greenpeace organisers Build Your Power series.

We build people power in our communities and use it to shift politics.

Our strategy focuses on four connected areas that grow our influence over time.

Together, these four elements help turn concern into organised community power that politicians can’t ignore.

Narrative

By sharing stories and listening deeply, we connect people’s everyday concerns to the bigger fight for climate, nature, and peace. When people realise they’re not alone, and that hope grows through collective action, more people step forward — and the movement grows.

Resources

Creative action

Visibility creates momentum. From high-street stalls to window posters, we make peace, climate, and nature protection a part of everyday life. By showing up in our communities, we turn private concern into a powerful public presence – giving others the courage to step forward.

Political impact

Political impact builds when communities organise together. By bringing people’s stories, voices and demands into the public arena — through meetings with MPs, local media and visible community action — we turn shared concern into political pressure that decision-makers can’t ignore.

Resources

Movement building

Movement building creates lasting power. By welcoming new people, sharing leadership and growing strong local teams, our “snowball” of people power grows — building the confidence and momentum needed to win change together.
