Communications Director
In investigating, exposing and confronting environmental abuse by governments and corporations, Greenpeace UK stands for positive change through action. We defend the natural world and promote peace, and in championing environmentally responsible and socially just solutions, we are committed to the principles of non-violence, political independence and internationalism. Our new Communications Director will embrace and promote these values, devising innovative strategies to influence opinion formers and reach key audiences.
The Role
- You will lead, develop and direct the Greenpeace UK internal and external communications strategy, operating within an overall global context
- Ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and up to date communications service, you will make full use of technologies and methods available both online and off line
- Raising the profile and identity of the organisation and its campaigns, you will work collaboratively with colleagues within Greenpeace UK and Greenpeace International, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement
The Candidate
- An accomplished leader with success in a similar role who's adept at driving change through an organisation; Comfortable working in a dynamic and demanding environment
- You will have a high degree of creativity, initiative and understanding of all forms of communication and their relevance in engaging different audiences
- Sensitive to social and cultural differences, you're able to put forward challenging ideas as well as inspire innovation in others
